Apparently, translated this means: 'this is not a pipe'. Which, in my opinion, is rather odd, as the picture above the text clearly resembles that of a pipe. Unless you turn it on its side, where it could be a variation of a question mark. This relates to the lesson we just did in a really interesting and mindboggling way, unfortunately, this relation has popped out of my mind for a quick breather and will probably come back in the form of other peoples comments. So just read them instead.

But, my interpretation of this is that things aren't always as they seem. I think this because the post by Mr Francis seems to show me a picture of a pipe, but then tells me it isn't, so I guess it could be a really bad drawing of a walrus.

This could be to do with the 'Kite Runner' because in the story things are not always as they seem. e.g. Hassan's relationship with Amir's father (Baba). We don't find out he is his real father (and therefore Amir's half brother) until near the very end. The Kite Runner has a few contradictory things within it, which could relate to things not always being as they seem.
I thought that the guy who's supposed to be Hassan's dad smokes a pipe? Unless I've imagined it to fit in with this picture but I'm sure he smokes a pipe. That's the only thing I can think of that fits with it, and I'm not even sure if what I'm saying is actually true in the book. :/
